The official training ground for The Tallahassee Ballet company
Primary Division
Ages 18mo.–7yrs.
Self-enrollment classes for the young ones, the Primary Division features classes that combine movement and music to help students develop coordination, body awareness, rhythm, flexibility, and self-confidence while learning dance vocabulary. Classes progress to introduce students to foundational dance steps and terminology.
Student Division
Ages 7 years+
As students progress in the Student Division, they are presented with more challenging ballet vocabulary and a quicker pace. Level 2 classes are designed to elevate the dance student’s knowledge of ballet for those aspiring to audition for The Tallahassee Ballet’s Youth Company. This division includes self-enrollment and placement-only classes.
Pre-Professional Division
Ages 10 years+
TTB School Pre-Professional Division is by placement only. Highly dedicated advanced students are invited to this program based on individual progress. These programs are designed for students who may wish to pursue a professional career in dance and aspire to be a part of (or are already members of) The Tallahassee Ballet’s Youth Company.
Open Division
Ages 13 years to Adult
All Self-Enrollment classes. Adult/Teen Ballet and conditioning classes are for seasoned dancers, new beginners, and returning students. Beginner/Intermediate-level classes use a slower pace throughout class to introduce and/or reinforce Ballet terminology and technique. Intermediate/Advanced level classes build on the foundations of Ballet terminology and technique while moving through a faster-paced class.
6-week Summer Session
Ages 4 years+
Includes self-enrollment and placement-only classes. The Tallahassee Ballet School offers a variety of opportunities for dancers to train over the summer – Classes; a two-week Summer Intensive; week-long, full-day summer workshops; at the student and pre-professional levels; and full- and half-day Dance Camps for young dancers featuring a variety of themes.
