1972-2022 – Celebrating 50 Years!
We are excited to have you join us as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary Season!
Artistic Director Tyrone Brooks, the Board of Directors, TTB staff, and I are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of this organization. In the fall of 1972, Helen Salter, a former Balanchine dancer, founded the Tallahassee Civic Ballet. Since our inception, we have been blessed with the guidance of extremely talented and dedicated Artistic Directors: Nancy Carroll Abbey, Joyce Straub Fausone, Henry Hernandez, Rick McCullough, and Tyrone Brooks. Kathryn Karrh Cashin, TTB’s Resident Choreographer, has been an integral part of the ballet since the 1980s.
TTB is comprised of a professional company and a youth company. We are committed to presenting professional performances with both classical and contemporary works, tailor-made costumes, acclaimed guest choreographers, and live orchestration for all performances. We nurture emerging dancers – and provide essential community outreach programs like DanceChance, which provides free dance classes to economically disadvantaged children in after-school programs.
We are extremely grateful to our supporters, patrons, dancers, staff, and community. Thank you for helping us to celebrate 50 years as Tallahassee’s premier dance company!
We look forward to seeing you at the theater.
