DANCECHANCE

DanceChance was initiated in 1997 by Artistic Director Joyce Straub Fausone. The program was created to provide opportunities to children in communities with barriers while exposing them to the art form of dance.

Through this program, TTB provides tuition-free instruction to youth in after-school programs of schools identified as 21st Century Community Learning Centers and/or Title 1 Schools. Grades 2-3 are based on the National Dance Institute’s dance education curriculum; grades 4-5 are ballet centric. DanceChance engages students and encourages them to express themselves through movement.

A year-end showcase allows the students to demonstrate what they have learned to their families, friends, and teachers. Participants are also invited to learn more about dance – and are provided the opportunity to receive complimentary tickets to performances. They are also invited to community open houses held at TTB studios, where they can watch the Company train and rehearse. In addition, talented and dedicated students are awarded scholarships to continue training over the summer at TTB.

TTB's professional and qualified instructors share their passion and love for dance, while also imparting discipline and encouraging self-expression. DanceChance provides an exceptional, unique enrichment to traditional education.
