Dress Code

The Tallahassee Ballet School does not sell uniforms at this time. Some Eurotard items may be available to purchase locally from Dancewear Tallahassee (located in Midtown). Dress Code is strictly enforced at The Tallahassee Ballet School

  • Mommy & Me and Open Division Classes:  Comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. Ballet shoes or socks are allowed. No street shoes in the studio! Mommy and Me dancers will need ballet tights and shoes for the Spring Showcase.

  • Creative Movement: Black (or any) ballet leotard, pink or skin-tone tights, leather ballet shoes (should match the tights) for ballet, hair pulled out of face. No street clothing. Skirts are allowed but not required. 

  • Primary Levels A, B, and Ballet/Tap: Eurotard Short-Sleeve Dress (Primary A – #10467 WHITE, Primary B – #44464C PINK, Ballet/Tap – #44464C PINK), pink or skin-tone tights, canvas or leather ballet shoes (should match the tights) for ballet, black jazz shoes for jazz class, black tap shoes for tap, hair pulled back neatly in a bun or small ponytail (for those with short hair). No street clothing.  

  • Level 1-3:  #44475 Eurotard Short-Sleeve Leotard (Lvl. 1 – LIGHT BLUE, Lvl. 2 – LILAC, Lvl. 3 – ROYAL), pink or skin-tone tights, canvas or leather ballet shoes (should match the tights) for ballet, black jazz shoes for jazz, hair pulled back in a neat bun. No skirts, baggy warm-ups, or street clothing are permitted in the studio. Short, Uniform color-matching skirts may be worn with permission of the teacher during a Pointe technique class. 

  • Level 4-5:  Eurotard Leotard in dancer’s style of choice (Lvl. 4 – PURPLE, Lvl. 5 – BURGUNDY) pink or skin-tone tights, canvas or leather ballet shoes (should match the tights) for ballet, black jazz shoes for jazz, hair pulled back in a neat bun. No skirts, baggy warm-ups, or street clothing are permitted in the studio. Short, Uniform color-matching skirts may be worn with permission of the teacher during a Pointe technique class.  

  • Level 6-7: Any style leotard in a solid color, pink or skin-tone tights, canvas or leather ballet shoes (should match the tights) for ballet, black jazz shoes for jazz, hair pulled back in a neat bun. No skirts, baggy warm-ups, or street clothing are permitted in the studio. Short, solid-colored skirts may be worn with permission of the teacher during a Pointe technique class.  

  • Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary:  Any style leotard in a solid color, black or pink/skin-tone tights, solid color leggings or fitted pants, hair pulled back neatly. No bulky warm ups or street clothing (floor work may be required in class that can be inhibited by baggy attire or bare legs/midriff).  No shoes needed for contemporary. Ballet shoes for Lyrical.  

  • Boys/Men (all Levels): White or level uniform-matching, fitted, crew-neck shirt, black tights/fitted pants, black socks, black ballet shoes.
