The heart of any community is its people, and Tallahassee is blessed with a vast array of talented individuals who have contributed to the artistic legacy of our city. The dancers of The Tallahassee Ballet, in partnership with talented musicians representing Florida State University’s College of Music, will present a diverse program highlighting local composers and choreographers, that celebrates the artistic talents of our community, both past and present, through movement and music.

An Evening of Music & Dance (EOMAD) is an annual performance dating back to the 1990s that offers a perfect evening for music and dance lovers alike. The partnership between The Florida State School of Music and The Tallahassee Ballet brings audience members a unique sensory experience in the iconic Opperman Music Hall.

Opperman Music Hall was originally built in 1911. It was torn down in 1951 after developing a settling crack and was rebuilt in 1954. The concert hall seats more than 400 patrons and is located in FSU School of Music’s Kuersteiner Building. The acoustics in the venue, combined with the talents of EOMAD Musical Director Deloise Chagas Lima, make for a spectacular harmony between the dancers on stage and the chamber musicians at the base of the stage. The intimate setting gives audience members a sensation of being a part of the art-making process.

Dance styles include contemporary and ballet original works created by guest choreographers and the senior dancers in the Company. Get your tickets now to kick off The Tallahassee Ballet’s 52nd season.
