About INTIMATE

INTIMATE is an immersive arts experience featuring dynamic dancers, live music, delicious food and drinks, interactive experiences, and a curated art exhibit. This unique event transforms TTB studios into an intimate performance venue and gallery celebrating dance and visual art.

INTIMATE GALLERY EXHIBIT

Local and regional artists are invited to submit work. Selected pieces will be exhibited throughout the weekend and auctioned through silent bidding to support local artists and TTB’s artistic and educational programs.

Local arts leaders will jury the show, including award-winning local artist Dan Taylor, recently featured in Tallahassee Magazine. Winners will receive certificates and prizes.

Throughout the performance weekend, one studio will be transformed into an art gallery, featuring works from both professional and emerging local artists. Your artwork will be showcased alongside live chamber music and exquisite ballet costumes crafted by TTB artisans.

Artwork Submission

GUIDELINES

Original artwork only
2-dimensional and 3-dimensional works are welcome.
No fee to submit digital artwork
Artists may submit up to 4 original works for consideration by completing the Online Submission Form and providing digital images of each piece. A panel will review all submissions and select the artwork to be included in the exhibition. Due to limited gallery space, submission does not guarantee acceptance.
Artists are encouraged to submit pieces that complement the atmosphere and themes of movement, storytelling, emotion, or human connection, though this is not required.
The Tallahassee Ballet reserves the right to decline content that may not be appropriate for the audience.

HOW TO SUBMIT

Fill out the Online Submission Form.
Upload images through the submission form by Tuesday, December 15, 2026.
Entries must be submitted in JPEG, JPG, or PNG format.
Digital image files must be at least 1000 pixels and no larger than 3MB.
Image is to be correctly oriented (vertical or horizontal) and cropped to clearly represent the artwork.
Name the digital files with your last name, followed by the artwork title, with an underscore between each word.

Artwork Acceptance

NOTIFICATION

Artists will be contacted no later than Monday, January 25, 2027, regarding the results of the selection process. Further instructions will include installation requirements, artwork delivery dates, bidding procedures, and additional exhibition details.

ACCEPTED ARTWORK SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Artwork drop-off deadline: Wednesday, February 10, 2027.

We can coordinate receiving donations before this date.
Work must be provided ready for exhibition (wired for hanging or otherwise display-ready).

ARTIST PARTICIPATION OPTIONS

Artists may choose one of two options for the proceeds generated from the final winning bid. Artists will indicate their preferred option on the Artist Agreement.

Option A – Full Donation
100% of the final sale proceeds are donated to The Tallahassee Ballet in support of its artistic and educational programs. TTB’s Federal ID # for tax purposes is: 23-7273533
Option B – Revenue Share
Final sale proceeds will be divided equally:
—50% to the artist
—50% to The Tallahassee Ballet (EIN: 23-7273533)

ARTWORK BIDDING & SALES

All selected artwork (unless agreed upon in advance) will be offered through a bidding process during the INTIMATE performance weekend.

How Our Bidding Works:

Artists will suggest an initial opening bid and market value for each submitted piece.
Artists are encouraged to consider an accessible opening bid that allows room for competitive bidding throughout the event. Opening bids may not exceed $200 (suggest $25-$50) to encourage guest participation.
Artists will provide an estimated value of the artwork.

Guests will have the opportunity to place bids on artwork throughout the exhibition weekend. At the close of the bidding period, the highest eligible bid will determine the final sale price. Sale proceeds will be distributed (according to the artist’s selected donation) through a revenue-sharing app.

RESULTS

Artists will be contacted no later than Friday, February 19, 2027, regarding the results of the weekend. Payments for any artists’ revenue will be made via Venmo. If necessary, a check can be provided.

Juried Exhibit

JURY PROCESS

Works of art are eligible to be assessed as an open jury. Jurists will see the artists’ names, medium, and descriptions. Individual selections will be evaluated in person on the evening of Saturday, February 13, 2027, based on an average of the following:

Mastery of Technique: How effectively does the artist use the chosen materials and methods? (1-10)
Creativity and/or Innovation: Does the work show an individual perspective, imaginative choices, or a fresh approach? (1-10)
Composition and Design: How effectively do elements such as line, form, color, texture, and space work together? (1-10)
Expressive Impact: Does the work create a meaningful response or leave a lasting impression? (1-10)
Each panelist will select a ‘Favorite in Show.’ That selection will receive an additional 10 points toward the combined tabulation.

Join us for a life-drawing session featuring dancers from The Tallahassee Ballet as live models. Open to artists of all levels—amateur, student, and professional—this unique event invites you to capture movement, form, and expression in real time.

Bring your own materials and gather with fellow creatives for an inspiring, relaxed afternoon in The Tallahassee Ballet studios.

$15 Model Fee.
Cash or Venmo will be collected on the day of the event.

This event serves as a prelude to our upcoming in-studio performance—INTIMATE: An Immersive Arts Experience—February 12-14, 2027.

As a participant, we invite you to share one or more of your artworks/sketches created during the session for display during INTIMATE weekend.
