PRE-PROFESSIONAL DIVISION
Ages 10+. The Pre-Professional Division is by placement only. Highly dedicated, advanced students are invited to this program based on individual progress. These programs are designed for students who may wish to pursue a professional career in dance and aspire to be a part of (or are already members of) The Tallahassee Ballet’s Youth Company. New families and students must be evaluated by the School Director for placement in the Pre-Professional Division prior to enrollment. Please email classes@tallahasseeballet.org with details about your dancer’s previous experience to determine initial placement.
Enrollment based on age as of October 1, 2026.
Level 3
This program is designed for students wanting to develop and strengthen their skills with aspirations of pointe work and auditioning for TTB’s Youth Company. Ballet classes begin to draw attention to the artistry of ballet movement and the fluid connection of steps, as well as to prepare young dancers for auditions and performances.
Three program options allow families to choose an option that best aligns with their needs. Dancers enrolled in a Level 3 Program participate in either a Tuesday/Thursday class schedule OR Tuesday/Friday class schedule. Tuesday Contemporary (4:45-6pm) can be replaced with Wednesday Level 2/3, Lyrical (6:00-7:00pm) upon request.
Level 4
This program is designed to expand the body’s movement capabilities through challenging and complex combinations that will prepare dancers for TTB’s Senior Youth Company. It will focus on the use of the upper body, moving through space, and using artistry along with technical abilities. With a very enthusiastic and outgoing approach, you will leave these classes feeling a sense of mental and physical accomplishment and enjoyment. Three program options allow families to choose an option that best aligns with their needs. Dancers enrolled in a Level 4 Program participate in a Monday/Thursday class schedule.

Level 5/6
This program is designed to prepare students with a desire to pursue a career in ballet or a high level of pre-professional training. It will focus on challenging the mind and body with a focus on performance and artistry. Dancers are expected to prepare and perform classical repertoire within ballet classes. With a very enthusiastic and outgoing approach, you will leave these classes feeling a sense of mental and physical accomplishment and enjoyment. Dancers enrolled in Levels 5/6 Programs participate in a Monday/Thursday class schedule, with optional additional classes.
