Kristin Javate

Kristin Javate is a third-year student at Florida State University and native of St. Petersburg, Florida, where she received much of her dance education at the Academy of Ballet Arts and the St. Petersburg Ballet conservatory. Javate has trained in the styles of ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and contemporary. She has trained at various summer programs across the country including Orlando Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, St. Petersburg Ballet Conservatory, The Tallahassee Ballet, and the ABT summer intensive. She joined The Tallahassee Ballet Company in 2021 as a corp de ballet member and has performed roles such as Clara in The Nutcracker and is on the faculty at the Tallahassee Ballet School and Wakulla Dance Academy. Along with her involvement in the ballet company, she is currently earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology as well as minors in Chemistry and Spanish.

Javate not only trains in ballet, but also in various styles of hip hop. She is currently a captain of the dance crew, Capitill State under the affiliation of the Filipino Student Association. She is a coordinator and choreographer for Capitill State and led the group to receive the 3rd place (2021) 2nd place (2022) award at the Def Talent Jam competition.
