Jonathan Waters, President
Jonathan Waters was born in Norwich, Norfolk, England and immigrated to Canada where he finished his education, receiving a B.Sc. from McMaster University in 1969, and also receiving extensive training as a classical pianist and organist. After living in many places, both in North America and abroad, he relocated to Tallahassee, and became a founder and a principal in Datamaxx Applied Technologies. His son, Ryan, is a sophomore at Florida State University and daughter Caitlin is a senior at Chiles High School, and a former dancer with The Tallahassee Ballet. This is his 5th year on the board of the Ballet and his first year as its president.


Nancy Click, President Elect
Nancy Hartsell Click danced with The Tallahassee Ballet for her entire childhood and is passionate about the impact of the arts on children and adolescents. She will be serving on TTB Board of Directors for her fifth year. Nancy is employed by Takeda Pharmaceuticals and has also served on the board for the Junior League of Tallahassee. She and her husband, Blaine have a daughter named Logan Elizabeth.


Fely Curva, Immediate Past President
Fely Curva, Ph.D., is principal partner at Curva and Associates, a private consulting firm, located in Tallahassee.  She currently serves as the Coordinator of the Budd Bell Clearinghouse on Human Services. Dr. Curva received her Ph.D. from the Florida State University, Department in Reading and Multilingual/Multicultural Education; a Masters of Science degree in Education/Research and Evaluation; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Valdosta State College.She served as President of the Tallahassee Ballet in 2000-2001 and again in 2008-2009.  She has also served on the board of numerous state and local organizations.

Katie Pernell, Recording Secretary
Katie Field Pernell proudly serves on the Board of Directors for The Tallahassee Ballet. She was a company dancer from 1992-1998 and through her time there, received excellent training and made life-long friendships. Apart from TTB, Katie also volunteers with the Junior League of Tallahassee and serves as President of her own project staffing and consulting company, AP Professional Services.  Katie is happily married to Jason and is the mom of two boys, Colin and Campbell.


Shannon Grooters, Corresponding Secretary
Shannon Colvin Grooters is an alumni of The Tallahassee Ballet, training and performing with the company from 1990-1999. It is because of her unparalleled training, invaluable experiences and lifelong friendships that she has chosen to serve on the Board of Directors for The Tallahassee Ballet and provide similar experiences to other young Tallahassee dancers. In addition to her volunteer work with the ballet, Shannon is also a member of the Junior League of Tallahassee, a Client Services Representative employed by Rowland Publishing, a wife and a mother.


Laurie Molina, Guild Chair
Laurie Molina is presently the Program Director for the Geography Education and Technology Program at Florida State University and Coordinator of the Florida Geographic Alliance in affiliation with the National Geographic Society.  Laurie is a Scholar Scientist at Florida State University where she develops grant programs, teaches and serves as a member of the university’s Council on Research and Creativity. Exploring advanced geospatial technologies as well as world cultures, art, dance and music are central to her research agenda. Laurie is married to Santiago Molina and has one daughter, Clare who is a member of the Apprentice II Company.

Andrea Carlile

Andrea Drury Carlile is married to Wilson Carlile and has two children.  She was a Tallahassee Ballet Company Dancer from 1995-1998 and taught dance at Sharon Davis School of Dance, Tallahassee, from 2002-2005.  In addition to dance, education has been her other passion.  She was an elementary school teacher with Leon County Schools from 2003-2009.  Currently, she is an FSU Doctoral Student in the College of Education and working as a Graduate Research Assistant.


Meredith Crowell

A native of Tallahassee, Meredith earned her B.A. in History with a minor in Classical Studies from Furman University in 2002 and her J.D. from The University of Virginia School of Law in 2005.  After graduating from law school, Meredith held a judicial clerkship at the Florida Fifth District Court of Appeal in Daytona Beach.  Meredith currently practices as an attorney with Williams, Gautier, Gwynn, DeLoach & Sorenson, P.A. in the regulatory and legal compliance department.  Meredith danced with The Tallahassee Ballet from 1993-1997, and is excited to be involved again as a member of the Board of Directors. She is also an active member of the Junior League of Tallahassee.


Katie Drake

Katie Dake is the Distric Manager at the Wachovia/wells Fargo Bank. She has been with Wachovia for 8 years. Katie Dake has two children and is married to Kris Dake. She is also involved wit many organizations including United Way, American Heart Association, and Chi Omega Fraternity. Katie Dake is a Florida State University graduate with her BA in Business and Marketing. She grew up dancing in Orlando, FL and that is where she gained her passion for the arts.


Valerie Draper

Valerie moved to Tallahassee 3 1/2 years ago from Niskayuna NY, where she was an active member of the Northeast Ballet Company Parent Guild. For the past two years she served on The Tallahassee Ballet Board and Executive Board as Guild Chair. Val is a Registered Nurse, working part time as a substitute school nurse at Maclay School, and in the Boutique at Steinmart. She's happily married to David Draper and they have three children. Her daughter Ann dances for TTB in the Senior Company. Val is also on the Board of the Capital Medical Society Alliance and the Capital Medical Society and currently serves as President of the Alliance. She is happy to be a part of this dynamic group of supporters of the Arts in Tallahassee and loves The Tallahassee Ballet!


Holly Edenfield

Holly Radcliffe Edenfield is pleased to serve on the board of The Tallahassee Ballet, after having been a senior dancer from 2001-2006.  After graduating from FSU and UF, she returned to Tallahassee in 2003 and is employed by the Florida Department of Education, working on policy and special projects for the Division of Public Schools.  She is married to Marcus Edenfield and they have a young daughter, Sally Kate.  Holly has taught dance to all levels and ages and has recently choreographed three shows for the Quincy Music Theatre.  In addition to dance, she is involved with the Junior League of Tallahassee and Faith Presbyterian Church.


Rian Meadows

Rian Meadows was born and raised in Winter Park, Florida.  Rian attended Florida State University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Social Science Education.  In 2006, Rian and her husband moved back to Tallahassee.  Rian worked for the Florida Department of Education as the Ambassador. The lure of the classroom proved to be too much and Rian returned to teaching in 2008.  She is currently teaching Economics to Seniors in high school.  Rian is heavily involved in the local community.  In her free time Rian enjoys Florida State Football, traveling, and spending time with her husband and triplets, Hadley, Carson, and Reese.
 
James Pace
James Pace has served on the BOD since 2005. For the past several years, James has built TTB’s Springtime Tallahassee Parade and Winterfest floats. Remarkably, James has no child in the Company and gives of his time, energy and money without any motives other than his love for dance and desire to give back to the community in which he resides. James Pace is the owner of Guardian Home Inspections & Repairs, Inc. and is a building contractor. He graduated from Tallahassee Community College with his B.S. and received his M.S. in Special Education from Florida State University.


Abby Perkins

Abby Perkins is originally from Atlanta, GA and is a graduate of Clemson University.  She moved to Tallahassee in 2006 and is a local Manager of Business Development with the US Commercial Card Division of American Express.  She is an avid equestrian, and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.


Lori Roberts

Lori Danello Roberts is a local graphic designer who has been publisher of Family Forum magazine for the past 15 years. She has been donating her design services to The Tallahassee Ballet for the past decade, and has been an avid supporter of the company ever since her daughters began dancing in the junior company. Lori does her best to support many arts organizations throughout the community and, as a former performer, fully believes in the power of arts education. Lori recently received her white belt as a certified Nia Instructor. Lori is excited to once again be embracing the joy of movement and music and sharing this unique workout with Tallahassee.

Alison Voorhees

The 2009-2010 Season marks Alison Voorhees's fourth year serving on the TTB Board of Directors. She has a background in vocal performance and was formerly on staff for Seven Days of Opening Nights and the Orlando Ballet. Her interest is building future audiences by introducing Tallahassee's young professionals to local arts and cultural offerings. Alison is employed by Capital City Bank and is active with the Junior League of Tallahassee, Access Tallahassee, United Way, American Cancer Society and Savannah Newton Challenger Little League.
 Photo Coming Soon!  Jen White grew up in Tallahassee and is a graduate of Florida State University. Jen is married to Jason and they have a daughter, Sutton Hill. Jen wanted to serve on the Tallahassee Ballet Board for her belief in giving back to the community and in hopes to expose her daughter, hopefully a future dancer, to the wonderful world of ballet. Jen is currently a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for Eli Lilly & Company.
